About Us
The African proverb, “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,” truly captures what Destination Mozambique is all about. Nikki and Cordelia started this business during a challenging time for tourism, right after COVID. People weren’t traveling much, especially to far-off places like Mozambique. So, we teamed up with the government and local hotel owners to put Mozambique back on the map and encourage travelers to explore this beautiful country.
During that time, the saying “Estamos Juntos,” which means “we are together,” became a source of strength for everyone. It reminded us of the African spirit of “Ubuntu”—community, purpose, and compassion. It’s about seeing our humanity through the relationships we build with others.
Nikki and Cordelia knew Mozambique well, collectively we worked in the country for 20 years, but this was our first business venture on our own. Starting a business is tough, and doing it alone is even tougher. Working together made everything feel more achievable. As we built our network, Tour Operators started trusting us to help plan trips and meet guests’ expectations. That led us to our next chapter—creating custom group itineraries. Group travel has a unique energy, and we loved crafting experiences that brought people together for a shared purpose.
For us, travel is more than just going from one place to another. It’s about the people you’re with and the memories you create together. It’s about shared adventures and building bonds along the way. Mozambique and its neighbours just happen to be the perfect place to do exactly that…
